    Two Samurai on Boat-5 views "Masakiyo Sankan Taiji Zu". Two strong Samurai warriors are attacking Korean soldiers. General Kato Kiyomasa (or Masakiyo: 1562-1611) led the 200,000 soldiers for Toyotomi Hideyoshi's ambition to conquer China by way of Korea. They were actually inspired by Yoshitoshi's impressions of the bloody battles at Ueno in 1868. This design portrayed Munekata Kamon trying to warm up his hands on a snowy night.

    Flute Player Triptych-14 viewsFujiwara no Yasumasa (958 - 1036) was a famous musician. Here he plays his flute while walking back home in a moor. A man wanted to rob him his clothing but was enchanted by his music and ended up following him until his home. Then Yasumasa took notice of the robber, gave the man his robe and told him, "Next time, ask." This triptych is one of the best known designs by Yoshitoshi.
